Management Biographies

President / CEO - Rusty Townsend

Rusty Townsend is the co-founder and President of B&T Hospitality Management, LLC. A graduate of Ricks College and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration in 1986, Rusty has dedicated over 40 years to the hospitality industry.

His career began on the front lines as a General Manager for Best Western, followed by a tenure as Vice President of CottonTree Management, where he was instrumental in the acquisition and management of 13 properties. He then went on to co-found B&T Hospitality Management in 2005.

A respected leader in the tourism community, Rusty was appointed to the Idaho Travel Council by three governors. His guiding philosophy—”take care of your staff and they will take care of you and your hotels”—is the cornerstone of B&T’s culture. This commitment is evidenced by the deep loyalty of his leadership team, many of whom have worked alongside him for over 35 years to build B&T into a premier developer and operator of branded hotel assets.

Director of Hotel Operations - larry R Wolf

With nearly four decades of hospitality experience, Larry Wolf is a pillar of the B&T operational framework. His career began as a Night Auditor in 1987, and by 1990, he had earned his first General Manager role. Since 1993, Larry has excelled in multi-property management, overseeing clusters of hotels throughout the Intermountain West.

Larry joined B&T Hospitality Management when it was founded in 2005. A Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) since 1998, he is recognized for his mastery of budget preparation, cost control, and operational efficiency. Having worked alongside Rusty Townsend for over 35 years, Larry’s deep institutional knowledge and hands-on experience in daily operations are instrumental in maintaining B&T’s reputation for excellence and profitability.

Regional Operations Manager - Tyler Townsend

Tyler Townsend earned his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Utah Valley University in 2013. A true veteran of the industry, he has worked in hospitality since 2007, rising through the ranks from Houseman to Front Desk Agent, Assistant General Manager, and General Manager. After a brief tenure in financial services, Tyler returned to his passion for hospitality. Today, he leverages his deep operational roots and financial expertise to oversee the day-to-day management and performance of our diverse property portfolio.

VP of Development - Tanner Townsend

Tanner Townsend brings an elite level of financial strategy to the B&T leadership team. He holds an Associate Degree from Utah State University and graduated cum laude from Utah Valley University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He further specialized his expertise at the University of Utah, earning a Master of Accountancy with an emphasis in Finance and Audit.

A licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Utah, Tanner has spent years navigating various roles and brands within the hospitality industry. His unique dual focus allows him to bridge the gap between day-to-day operations and high-level project development. At B&T Hospitality Management, LLC, Tanner is responsible for financial statement preparation, project development, and ensuring the fiscal health of the company’s growing portfolio through meticulous reporting and market analysis.

Engineering & Facilities Manager - Scott Fisher

Scott Fisher is the technical backbone of B&T Hospitality Management’s physical assets. A 1989 graduate of air-frame power-plant mechanic and flight school, Scott transitioned his technical expertise to the hospitality sector, focusing on large-scale building mechanical and electrical systems. In 1998, he achieved the Certified Engineer of Operations designation from the American Hotel and Lodging Association.

Scott joined B&T in 2005. With over 35 years of experience in facility maintenance and engineering—much of it spent working alongside Rusty Townsend—Scott ensures that every property in the portfolio operates at peak efficiency, prioritizing guest safety and the long-term integrity of the building’s infrastructure.

Treasurer / Controller - Todd Johnson

Todd Johnson has served as the Treasurer and Controller for B&T Hospitality Management since its founding in 2005. With an extensive background in financial management and corporate accounting, Todd is responsible for the company’s internal controls, fiscal reporting, and cash flow management. His oversight ensures that B&T’s portfolio remains financially sound and transparent for both owners and stakeholders. Since the company’s inception, Todd has worked closely with the executive team to scale B&T’s financial infrastructure, providing the stability and precision necessary to support the company’s expansion across the Intermountain West.

Accountant / Human Resources - Raydene Price

Raydene Price brings a unique and highly practical perspective to the B&T leadership team, backed by over ten years of experience as a hotel General Manager. This decade on the front lines gives her an invaluable “boots-on-the-ground” understanding of property operations, which she now applies to her role in corporate accounting and Human Resources.

Raydene manages payroll, benefits, and employee relations across the B&T portfolio, ensuring that administrative processes serve the actual needs of property-level staff. Her transition from hotel leadership to corporate oversight allows her to uphold the company’s “staff-first” culture with both professional precision and an authentic understanding of the guest service experience.

Administrative Assistant- Brecca Hammond

Brecca Hammond joined B&T Hospitality Management in January 2020, bringing a disciplined and multi-faceted approach to the company’s financial operations. She earned her Associate’s Degree in Marketing and Management from Idaho State University in 2009 and possesses a diverse professional background that includes three years in the banking sector and six years of hands-on experience across several major hotel brands.

In her current role within B&T, she is responsible for overseeing accounts payables for multiple properties within the portfolio, ensuring fiscal accuracy and maintaining the strong vendor relationships that are vital to the company’s daily operational success.
